canastas
Our Canasta Collection highlights the craft of traditional handweaving in Guatemala. Each bag is made on a wooden mold by our skilled artisan team, taking anywhere from 5 to 12 hours to complete, depending on the size.
The process begins with recycled plastic thread, which is carefully woven and sealed by hand—each edge burned to create a strong and lasting connection. The word “canasta” means basket in Spanish, and these totes carry that same basket-like weave, both sturdy and timeless.
The result is a collection of bags that are not only lightweight, durable, and easy to clean, but also carry the story of ethical craftsmanship and sustainable materials. Every Canasta Tote reflects our artisans’ skill, patience, and care—making each one truly unique.
